I'm sure I' forgetting stuff. I read so many plays and things nowadays.
Auditions are over and I think I found some people that are right for my show. I called back like six people for each role. I think it is going to be a lot of fun. I also got called back for the musical Illyria which is a musical adaptation of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night. I got called for the role Sir Toby Belch. I am so excited because it is the first musical I have been called back for since coming to UArts. I think I have a really nice voice and I just have not been able to show it off. It's even crazier because the director for this show used to be the head of the musical theatre department and is currently the head for the entire school of theatre arts. Exciting.
So...I have like 8 million things I should be doing right now, but instead I'm posting this...enjoy!!!

| | "Behind Me Day" Gavin Creel...beautiful song | ] | So, this semester is pretty much done...we only have two more weeks when we come back from Thanksgiving and then finals. Weird.
I don't really know where all the time has gone.
Major Barbara went okay. Pretty much everyone hated the direction, but they thought we all did as a good a job as we could. Some people even loved it. They came back a couple times. I was totally surprised. There was also this little old lady who was like "are you all students? Because that was so good and professional." I loved it. It really was a blast. I got to be with some of my favorite people here every day. This was the first cast where I really felt like a family since leaving high school. We got a long so well and the cast party was tons of fun (if not a shit show). I'm gonna miss those guys and gals.
In other news, we got our final scenes for acting. I am super excited because I got one of the Joe and Harper scene in Angels in America. It is going to be so crazy. My scene partner is such a fierce actress and we really go at each other. I think it will be a good scene...I hope. This is the first time that junior acting and musical theatre majors are going to have scene juries where all the teachers watch and evaluate this final scene. Should be interesting.
In other other news, I am exhausted. This break could not have come soon enough. I need to just go and pass out. I wish I was going home, but instead I'm heading to DC to be with my cousins and stuff. It will be fun, but I like being able to just do nothing when I'm home. Ah well, Christmas isn't that far away.
We also have auditions the first three days we come back from Thanksgiving Break. I'm directing two scenes in one of the productions next semester. The play is called The Umbrella Plays and there are six directors who are going to work together on the different scenes and then bring them together into a full evening of shows. It should be interesting.
Well...I gotta go to class. I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving.
